CURRENT RESEARCH

We are currently working on the development of controlled release technology in the gastrointestinal tract for biologically active factors that operate within the scope of the body’s inflammatory and immune response, as well as those affecting the microbiome of the large intestine, in various forms of administration. Such solutions can significantly improve therapeutic effectiveness and patient comfort.

Controlled release is a method that allows for gradual, slow and precise release of active ingredients in the body at specific time and location. This approach can help avoid significant spikes in substance concentration, minimizing adverse effects and enhancing the stability of the outcome.

Formulation and testing for various form substance administration is a complex process that requires appropriate research and analysis but can bring significant benefits. At Nutramatic, we mainly focus on oral forms, which are the most popular, thanks to their relative ease of use, convenience for users and assurance of stable release of active substances into the gastrointestinal tract.

Here are few examples of potential oral forms of administration that we have been and are working on:

1.

SOFT GELATIN CAPSULES

Capsules filled with a liquid active substance. Often used for products which active ingredients are difficult to convert into a powder forms.

2.

POWDERS FOR ORAL USE

Powders that patients need to dissolve in water before consumption. They can be used for substances requiring greater stability.

3.

EXTENDED-RELEASE TABLETS

Extended-release tablets are designed so to release the substance gradually over an extended period after their consumption. They can maintain a constant concentration in the body, allowing for less frequent dosing.

4.

MICROENCAPSULATED CAPSULES

Capsules containing microcapsules with an active substance. Microcapsules can have varying dissolution properties, allowing for the gradual release of the substance in the gastrointestinal tract.

5.

LOZENGES/CHEWABLE TABLETS

Tablets for oral dissolution or chewing. Faster action may be beneficial in certain situations, such as throat pain relief.

6.

ENTRIC-COATED TABLETS

Tablets coated with a delayed-release coating agent that protects the substance from dissolving in the stomach. It is only released in the intestines, which may reduce additionally adverse effects.

7.

EFFERVESCENT TABLETS

Tablets that are dissolved in water before consumption. They may be more pleasant for patients, especially for those that have a difficulty with swallowing standard tablets.

The choice of the appropriate oral administration form depends on various factors such as the characteristics of the active substance, therapeutic goal, patient preferences and dosage compliance. It is also important to conduct research and tests to confirm the effectiveness and safety of the selected form.
